I Want You As My Doula & Photographer....Now What?

First things first….YAY!! I’m so excited you’ve decided to include me in your birth story and to be a part of your birth team 🥰

Our time together will typically flow as follows:

  1. Agreement Signing and Retainer

I will send over our birth agreement for you to look over and sign. It goes over all of the expectations, limitations, special accommodations (aka I need to pump every 4 hours but can do it close by if you’re comfortable with that), payment plan (if applicable), and deliverables. I try and include All. The. Things. And then I will also send over the info for how you can pay the nonrefundable retainer to secure your guess date. Once both of those are done, you will officially be on my calendar!!

  2. First Prenatal

We will them schedule our first prenatal together. I like to get this done about 35 weeks (if no history of premature labor/birth). I will bring my “20 Questions” and we’ll go over what the “day of” may look like and when to call me. I also bring a few hand outs with me for you to keep (one is literally when to call me 😂). I will also remind you that fall payment is due by 37 weeks (so before our next prenatal). And then any questions you may have I can answer then!

  3. Second Prenatal

Our second prenatal together will be around 38 weeks (again, earlier if it’s needed), this is also when I go on call for you! This one we will go over comfort measures and make sure that you’re comfortable doing them because it royally sucks trying to do them for the first time actually IN labor. We go over what the day of may look like, when to call me (I go over this a lot 😂), and then any questions you may have again. I will also go over what happens if your baby decides to take their time and we’re looking at 24+ hours (I will definitely need a nap at that point) and what you’re comfortable with.

  4. Birth

Day of labor/birth is going to be very laid back. I follow your lead on how you’re feeling and will join you when we both feel it’s time (I don’t want you to feel like a watched kettle because that’ll just slow labor down). And then once I officially join you I will be there until about 2 hours postpartum!

  5. Postpartum Meeting

I like to do our postpartum meeting at about 10-14 days postpartum. This is the time for us to go over questions from your birth you may have, I want to know how things have been going. Are you eating? Are you sleeping? How is breast/body feeding going if that’s what you chose? How are you feeling emotionally? I want to know all the things because if you need resources, I can send you them. I also want to know how your partner is doing if applicable. They will need to answer all my questions too 😂

Additionally

I will be available for any questions by phone, text, or email in between our meetings for anything (if you have questions, letting me know how your appts were, if there was a change in anything, updates of any kind, etc) during the day unless its a “I’m in labor” call, then feel free to call me at 2 am.

I am here for you, whether you would like right next to you, or keeping pace just behind you. I’m here for YOU 💕
