Baby Shower Games!

These are my favorite baby shower games! I know there’s a fuck ton out there, but some of them are gross (like chocolate in a diaper) or just plain weird (like the paper full of pictures of faces “labor or porn” and you have to guess which is which).

These are games I either had at my baby shower (thank you to my best friend for hosting it for me and doing literally everything for it since I was incapacitated with HG) or that I’ve played at friends games that were a blast.

  1. Guess the Belly Size.

What You’ll Need: roll of string and scissors

How to Play: Guests will guess the parent to be’s belly size by cutting the string to the length they believe it is. No tape measure, purely just by eye sight and luck. Have the parent to be then wrap each string around their body and the winner is the person closest to their belly size without going over!

  2. Emoji Anagrams of Anything Baby Related

What You’ll Need: Pens and the anagram list (you can either make your own, or order some)

How to Play: Guests will receive the anagram list and a pen, there’s typically a time limit placed on guests of 10 minutes. Whoever guessed the most emoji anagrams correctly wins!

  3. The Price is Right Baby Shower Game

What You’ll Need: A list of specific baby items (like a pack of 2 Tommee Tippee pacifiers) and pens.

How to Play: Guests will fill out their list within 5-10 minutes of how much they think the item is worth. At the end of their guessing, have the guests total up all of the amounts they guessed. The person closest to the correct total for all of the items without going over, wins!

  4. Do You Know What It Is?

What You’ll Need: 10 paper bags, 10 baby items to place in paper bags, paper, and pens

How to Play: Each guest will receive a piece of paper and a pen, the 10 paper bags are then passed around with people peeking inside them. They can place their hands in the bag, and then write down their guess on the paper. Once all 10 bags have been passed around and everyone has guessed, the parent to be can announce what each bag held. The person who guessed the highest amount of correct items wins!

  5. How Many Baby Items Can You Name?

What You’ll Need: Pens, paper, and a stopwatch or timer

How to Play: Have guests write down as many baby items as they can remember in one minute. The person with the most items, wins! You can also change the length to 30 seconds or even 45 seconds. It’s all about quick thinking and memory!

  6. Baby Shower Bingo

What You’ll Need: Blank bingo cards and pens

How to Play: Guests will receive the blank bingo card and a pen, they’ll have about 5 minutes to fill in each box with items they think the parent to be will receive in their gift pile. As the parent to be is opening gifts, they get to mark a box off if they guessed the correct gift. The first person to Bingo wins (a straight or diagonal line wins bingo).

An extra activity:

A bucket of newborn size diapers and sharpies. Have guests write down notes (they can be funny endearing supportive, you name it) on the diapers for the parent(s) to read while they’re changing their little one. I personally loved this and have very fond memories of changing my little one’s diaper in the middle of the night while reading all the notes on the diapers I was given. Most people don’t realize how important that little pep talk is in the middle of the newborn fog.
