The Birth Center of Bloomington Normal
I LOVED visiting the birth center. The ONLY birth center in the state of Illinois south of Chicago. How fucking crazy is that??
And y’all this birth is the biggest birth center I have been in. It is big and beautiful. LARGE and IN CHARGE 😍😂
Section 1: The Main Room
As you enter the double double doors, you’re welcomed with lots of light and openness. To your immediate left, there is a meeting room and your immediate right there is a double sided fireplace and a living room. As you continue to enter into the main room, there is a check in desk directly in front of you, while to the right is a dining room table, and a large beautiful kitchen where many families have and will make food and drinks during the birth of their baby.
I wasn’t able to grab any photos of the main sitting room as it was being utilized by doulas during the monthly doula circle, but it is a really good size with multiple couches and chairs for you to sit on and relax. It’s the perfect place for family to go if you want them at the birth center but you don’t want them IN the birth suite with you.
Section 2: The Left Wing
If you take a left from the front desk, there is an emergency exit straight ahead and then a hallway at the end to your right. That hallway not only houses the bathroom (which also has a changing table in it), but also the midwives office, a lab room, and multiple exam rooms. This is where you will be seen during your prenatals.
Section 3: The Right Wing (Birth Suites)
As you walk pass the kitchen on your left, there are black double doors that can only be opened with a badge. This is where the magic happens ✨ Where midwives walk alongside you on your journey to meet your babe. Where your doula applies counter pressure and reminds you of your power. Where your partner (if applicable) holds you tenderly. And of course, where your birth photographer captures it all 💕
Birth Suite #1 (The farthest birth suite down the hall from the doors you enter through)
Very much a more modern feel and the most popular birth suite that people choose. But don’t you agree? I mean it’s freaking gorgeous!
Birth Suite #2 (The middle birth suite)
This birth suite is so different and fun! It has a very French farmhouse feeling to me. Also how fun is all of the fabrics in here, the rosettes on everything just adds so much texture.
Birth Suite #3 (the suite closest to the doors you walk through)
This suite feels like home. It feels like it was taken directly out of someones home and put in the birth center. But also not, because not many people to have a freestanding tub in their room 😂

These rooms are amazingly comfortable, and were all created with you in mind. You are in seriously amazing and skilled hands at the birth center and will be taken such good care of there 💕
