Trying to Conceive Affirmations

These would’ve been so helpful when Sam and I were on our TTC journey with Killian. Well not going to lie, I’m totally also writing this for me for when we start trying to conceive baby number 2 after we move to Minnesota. Because we all know that two week wait (TWW) takes FOR-EH-VERR.

Who knew all the emotions that happen waiting to pee on a stick…

When we were trying for our first, Sam and I tried to fill that two week window with things to keep our mind off of it. Projects around the house. Movie dates. Hikes. Whatever we could to fill the time.

I also just filled it with impatience and a countdown but that’s not something I would recommend very much 😂🤷🏼‍♀️

Two Week Wait affirmations

  1. My body knows how to get pregnant.

  2. My body is the perfect home for a baby.

  3. I am calm and trust my body to get pregnant.

  4. I enjoy this time to practice my patience.

  5. This time is an opportunity to create new experiences.

  6. I am closer to peeing on a stick with every passing day.

  7. I will get my positive.

  8. I can use this time to get closer to my partner.

I remember the two week wait as so negative. I’m hoping to change that for when we’re trying for #2 and I hope people can change the negative narrative around it as well.

I know it can be so difficult especially when infertility is involved, negative test after negative test. I’m not trying to promote negative positivity (because we all know that’s a thing). But I wish we focused more on what we have and what we have control over than constantly just viewing everything as if the glass is half empty.

Your body is fucking amazing. You can do this.

Bonus: Some ideas for the TWW:

  1. Make a new dinner every night that you’ve never made before.

  2. Watch a Harry Potter movie every night until you go through the entire series (⚡️👓)

  3. Learn how to knit/crochet and make something!

  4. Go on a hike/walk/bike ride. Just get out and move your body.

  5. Take up yoga.

  6. Take up pole fitness (hey now!)

  7. Walk on the beach if you’re by a large lake or ocean.

  8. Take up calligraphy.

  9. Start journaling your experiences and writing down all your feelings and emotions. It will be interesting to read later on or even to your children when they get older.
